Congratulations to the FIRH MedSci Research Day Award Winners!!
This year the Medical Sciences Graduate Program Research Day had a spectacular turnout of over 50 student participants in three competition categories, 25 faculty and post-doctoral judges, and close to 200 attendees at McMaster Innovation Park!
Sudeshna Dhar, 2nd Year PhD student in Dr. Mark Larche’s lab won 1st Place in the Science Communication Video category. The topic of her video was “Peptide Immunotherapy: Small, but Mightly”.
Cathy Cao, 3rd Year PhD student in Dr. Jeremy Hirota’s lab won 2nd Place in the Science Communication Video category. The topic of her video was “Exploring Novel Pathways to Prevent Acute Exacerbations and Preserve Lung Health”.
Jenna Benoit, 2nd Year PhD student in Dr. Dawn Bowdish’s lab won 3rd Place in the Oral Presentation category. The topic of her oral presentation was “Immunomodulatory Drugs Alter Antibody and T-cell Responses to SARS-COV-2 Vaccination in Participants with Rheumatoid Arthritis”.
Megan Vierhout, 3rd Year PhD student in Dr. Kjetil Ask’s lab won 3rd Place in the Poster Presentation category. The topic of her poster presentation was “Assessing the Role of IL4RA in Profibrotic Monocytes and Macrophages in Pulmonary Fibrosis”.
