Sarcoidosis

Sarcoidosis is a complex multi-system inflammatory condition characterized by the presence of  non-caseating granulomatous inflammation.  Sarcoidosis commonly affects the lung and the lymph nodes in the chest, but it can affect any organ including the eyes, skin, heart, and nervous system.  The McMaster Sarcoidosis Clinic strives to provide centralized care to patients suffering from the condition.  Optimal management requires a collaborative multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, researchers, and patient advocates dedicated to advancing patient care and discovery.

The program specializes in the comprehensive consultative and longitudinal care of patients with sarcoidosis, embracing a multi-disciplinary approach, collaborating with expert specialists across McMaster.  The Sarcoidosis Program at McMaster strives to advance patient care, research, education, and leadership and is recognized as a World Association of Sarcoidosis and Other Granulomatous Disorders (WASOG) Sarcoidosis Clinic.
