Study 3: Identification of potential biomarkers of peptide immunotherapy (experimental cat allergy vaccine). Part 2 — Gene Array Analysis

Principal Investigator

Dr. Helen Neighbour

Summary

This study is to look at gene expression in the specific cells involved in allergy response to cat allergens. Changes in gene expression will be examined before and after treatment with Cat-PAD, an experimental cat allergy vaccine, and in response to a nasal allergen challenge wherein subjects are exposed to set amounts of cat allergens. Nasal symptoms and other markers of allergy response will also be examined as induced by nasal allergen challenge following treatment with Cat-PAD. We can then determine whether there is a correlation between changes in symptomatology and gene expression profiles in allergen-specific T cells.
